Cost breakdown
The parts of an offer to inspect
Each lender writes its own terms, and you get to read every one first.
| APR | Interest plus fees, expressed as a yearly rate. On short-term loans this runs high and may exceed 200%. |
|---|---|
| Finance charge | What borrowing costs in dollars, listed up front. |
| Repayment schedule | Payment dates and the amount due on each. |
| Penalty fees | The cost of a late or returned payment, spelled out in the contract. |
| Extending the loan | If an extension is allowed, and its price. |
PistonFinance sets no rates and no fees; those come from the lender and depend on your state. Take only an amount the payment schedule lets you cover.
Common questions
Questions from the shop floor
What's the range?
$100 at the low end, $5,000 at the top. After reviewing, a lender might offer less or a different figure.
Does anyone pull my credit?
A lender reviewing your request may check your credit. Each lender describes how it does that before you accept.
How soon could I be paid out?
It comes down to the lender and your bank. If you're approved and accept, some deposit by the next business day. The offer states the timing.
Who can fill in the form?
Adults 18 and over living in the US, with regular income, an open checking account in their own name, and a phone and email they actually use.
Is a low credit score a dealbreaker?
Not for asking. Lenders we work with look at every kind of credit history. A weaker score may mean fewer or pricier offers, and approval is never assured.
Does PistonFinance lend?
No. PistonFinance refers requests and does not lend. Your form goes to lenders we work with, and any offer, with its terms, comes from them.
